Turn your weekend into a blockbuster bank holiday with a free trip to the cinema – all thanks to The National Lottery.

This Sunday is National Lottery Cinema Day, which means you can enjoy free entry to ODEON, Picturehouse, Empire, Light, Merlin and other participating independent cinemas across the country to see a film of your choice.*

National Lottery Cinema Day is a chance to celebrate the amazing contribution the public has made to the UK film industry by playing The National Lottery.

Because every time you play a National Lottery game, you’re helping to raise around £30million each week for Good Causes – including community, heritage, sports and of course, film projects.

To qualify for a free ticket, simply buy a Lotto ticket for Saturday’s Lotto Double Prize Event Draw. Each eligible line provides free entry for one adult on Sunday 25th August.

Once you have your qualifying Lotto Double Prize Event Draw ticket, arranging which film to see is easy. Simply follow these three steps:

1. Use the widget below or visit cinemaday.co.uk to find your local participating cinema.

(One adult cinema ticket per entry into the Lotto draw on 24th August, redeemable only on 25th August 2019. Cinema tickets are subject to availability. Selected cinemas only. Full Ts&Cs apply and are available at www.cinemaday.co.uk.  Account Terms, Rules & Procedures apply when playing Lotto. Players must be 16+ and physically located in the UK or IoM).

2. Visit the website of your participating cinema, choose your film and reserve your place.

3. Take your reservation details with your Lotto ticket to the cinema box office to claim your free cinema ticket.

Thanks to your support over the last 25 years, The National Lottery has been at the heart of UK life.

It has worked closely with the British Film Institute (BFI) and thanks to your generosity has helped fund a total of 500 films including The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, God’s Own Country, I, Daniel Blake, 71, The King’s Speech, Billy Elliot, Pride, and Suffragette.

In fact, with your help, UK films funded by The National Lottery have won 15 Oscars, 100 BAFTAS and an impressive 29 awards at the Cannes Film Festival.

Not only that, you’ve helped young actors from all different backgrounds get into film and supported both new and established filmmakers.

The UK has always been famed for its rich cultural offerings, and by playing National Lottery games, you’ve given more people the chance to get into this exciting industry, offering activities for children of all ages as well as education and training programmes.

So here’s to you, for making it all possible. And here’s to another 25 years of fantastic UK films!
