Almost a week on from her Glastonbury legends slot, the pop music legend has bagged her seventh number one album in this country.
Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection is her second retrospective collection to go all the way to the top, and it comes just a year after her 14th studio record, Golden, also hit the summit.
This puts her in a very small group of top-tier acts who have managed seven number ones, and she’s only the second female solo artist to score that amount.
Madonna is the only one with more: she’s on twelve, the most recent being 2012’s MDNA.
Coldplay, Elton John, Barbra Streisand and Take That are the other acts with seven.
It’s been a big week for Kylie: after that huge ‘legends slot’ Glastonbury set on Sunday, midweek sales figures on Monday put her ahead of her closest rival, Lewis Capaldi, by a ratio of two copies to one.
The gap had narrowed slightly by Wednesday, but she still had enough of a comfortable lead to land the top spot tonight.
Capaldi’s Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, which was last week’s number one, drops to number two.
Minogue and Capaldi were both at Glasto last week, and further down the charts, many more high-profile acts from the event enjoy sales boosts.
The Killers’ Direct Hits has raced up 49 spaces to number six, after a sales surge of 323%.
Their debut album Hot Fuss from 2004 is also returning to the Top 40, down at No39.
Sales of Stormzy’s Gang Signs & Prayer have jumped 234% to return him to No14, and The Cure’s Greatest Hits races 253% to re-enter the charts at No19.
Dave’s Pyschodrama is up 13 places to No27, and Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You comes frustratingly close to entering the Top 40 for the first time as it shoots back to No43.
Over on the singles chart, meanwhile, Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber are number one for the eighth week running.
I Don’t Care has held off Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s Senorita once again, while Sheeran is again at No3 with Khalid duet Beautiful People – this week’s highest new entry.
Stormzy’s Crown and Capaldi’s Hold Me While You Wait complete the top five.
