Queen Letizia, 47, attended a military parade in Madrid, Spain today alongside her husband King Felipe and their two daughters. The royal wore a blush pink dress which had sheer sleeves and butterfly embroidery from Felipe Varela. She teamed this with a pair of Steve Madden blush pink muled courts and a hot pink clutch from Magrit. Keeping to the pink theme, Letizia wore a striking pair of pink and silver earrings.

She wore her hair swept back in a simple bun, and completed the look with brown eyeshadow and pink lipstick.

Letizia made sure to represent Spain today, wearing a dress by a Spanish designer. The dress featured a Peter Pan collar and was nipped in at the waist, highlighting Letizia’s trim figure.

National Day, which the Spanish royals are celebrating, commemorates when Christopher Columbus first set foot in the Americas in 1492.

Despite the importance of the day, Letizia did not wear any of the jewellery from her lavish collection, instead opting for costume jewellery.

However, Letizia does often mix mid-range and casual items with pieces of luxury jewellery to great effect.

During the summer, Queen Leitizia was photographed at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, while her husband took part in the traditional Order of the Garter Service, in a gorgeous pair of diamond earrings.

The Joyas de Pasar diamond chanton earrings, part of a collection of jewellery passed from Spanish monarch to monarch, were teamed with a stunning diamond floral brooch, belonging to her mother-in-law Queen Sofia, 80.

During state visits, tradition dictates the Queen wears exquisite tiaras and gem-encrusted family heirlooms, all of which she effortlessly carries off in spectacular style.

She most often wears the Mellerio Floral Tiara, which is thought to be her favourite.

Her engagement ring is also striking, and is a platinum band filled with rectangular cut diamonds.
